Hate to be the one delivering her pizzas …

Situation where you do not go get your gun.

Two furniture deliverymen fled a home after a customer produced a gun because they wouldn’t take their shoes off, according to police reports.

Okay then.

Marble Layeth the Smacketh Down

On the whole, “I support the troops BUT” thing … a most excellent quote:

“Freedom isn’t free, and damn it at least be thankful to those who pick up the fucking check for you.”

Not much to say to that. On that note, Robb … thank you.

BREAKING: A Clinton Might Have Lied!

I’m not even going to link to any number of places running with this because it’s pretty much everywhere. Clinton claims she was landing in helicopter and running around ducking sniper fire. She, in fact, waltzed out of the thing with her daughter and promptly gave hugs and kisses to some little 8 year old girl with a detail of smiling man-servants.

Color me shocked that a Clinton lied.

Color me even more shocked that it’s now acknowledged as just a minor little misstatement. A “blip” if you will.

Lawyers do this arguing in front of the jury. They’ll go on and on about something knowing it’ll be “stricken from record” (ie: the Court Reporter than writes down, “stricken from the record”), knowing full well it’s in the heads of every juror which is exactly what they wanted to accomplish anyway.

Liars are good at that sort of thing.

You know … back before I was married, Scarlett Johannson and I used to have deviant sex parties together. You think she looks good here, you should see her hanging upside-down on a trapeze wearing a pair of ass-less chaps!

Scarlett Misstatement

Oh sorry … that was just a misstatement.

Punching Hippies

Oh yeah. Best of luck, Rachel, my thoughts and appreciation are with you and yours. And this is priceless:

Rupert reminded me to keep my sense of humor about all this, so I’ll close on this note: I hereby declare March 23 as Punch A Hippie In The Nuts Day. All you have to do to celebrate it is find a hippie, ask him how he feels about the military, and if he says anything other than “I love it because those guys make it possible for me to be a worthless hippie”, punch him right in the nuts.

Hang on … where did I put those brass knuckles, anyway?

Let’s Ban Knives and Hammers!

For those dimwitted, oatmeal-brained buffoons who believe banning guns will make the world a happy skippy place, have a look at this list found here. The linked article is about two drug-craving lunatics who beat an 85-year-old relative to death in her kitchen because she invited them in, gave them a place to stay, gave them some money and they wanted more.

Observe these other cases:

* Christine Conaway, 22, of Upland Borough, was sentenced in September to five to 10 years in state prison for the Dec. 31, 2006, blunt-force-injury death of her 4-month-old daughter, Kayla.

* Mia Sardella, 19, of Drexel Hill, granddaughter of prominent Philadelphia investment banker Albert E. Piscopo, is awaiting trial for the death of her infant son, found in the trunk of her car 21 days after his birth Jan. 1, 2007.

* Stanley Coleman, 46, shot his estranged wife, Christine Coleman, in the parking lot of her workplace in Lower Chichester on June 19, then turned his .357 Magnum on himself, leaving the couple’s two sons, Isaiah and Michael, orphaned.

* In January, Robert Killian, 84, of Drexel Hill, shot his blind daughter, Barbara, 53, and their dog, A-Rod, in the basement of the family home. He then turned the gun on himself. Police believe the ailing man had feared that no one would take care of his daughter after he died.

* Paul Wanyoike, 35, of Ridley Township, is serving a 10-to-20-year state-prison sentence after striking his wife, Yetunde, 32 times in the head with a claw hammer in January 2007. He killed her in front of the couple’s 4-year-old daughter.

* After 59 years of marriage, William Ernest, 82, of Brookhaven, last summer beat his wife, Jean, 80, into a coma from which she never awoke, according to police. Ernest pleaded guilty last month to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.

* The fatal stabbing of Antwan Ricks, 16, allegedly by his 13-year-old brother, Jahmir, at their Lansdowne home in July ostensibly was about the rights to a video-game controller. But defense attorneys claim that the younger Ricks’ alleged actions were precipitated by years of abuse he suffered at the hands of his brother. Hearings are ongoing to determine whether the case should remain in adult court.

* Maurice Milbourne, 23, has been charged in the July murder of his grandmother, Gladys Milbourne, 79. She was found dead in her Chester apartment, her throat cut open with a kitchen knife.

* Tyrone Miller, 33, was arrested last month in the fatal shooting of his stepfather, Orphus Land, 47, at their Darby Township home. Police believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute over a broken storm door.

Are guns on the list? Absolutely. But it’s not the gun that commits the crime as is clear as day here. Hammers, knives, blunt objects - all of it used for a purpose of evil by an evil individual. Banning guns won’t make evil go away any more than banning any other inanimate object will.

Democratic Cults Targeting NH Senator Sununu?

Just had this forwarded along to me. This was an email blast from Senator Sununu’s office:

I’m writing today to inform you of a very serious and time-sensitive matter. As you know, the far left has made me its top target in this year’s elections. Their operatives are doing everything and anything to eliminate from the United States Senate my voice for low taxes, limited government, local control, and personal responsibility.

And they are. Too many times I see some college kid from out of town wandering around with a “Stop Sununu” button and a clipboard getting out of his car sporting a host of liberal bumper stickers. That hit-job website touts Senator Sununu as one of the “least powerful Senators.” You know what? That’s fine with me. I don’t want some legislative dictator representing my views. Senators should have little power and they should have a healthy fear of their constituents.

This means that not only is the national Democratic Party and its Senate campaign committee attacking me, but also liberal groups with access to virtually unlimited financial resources are trying to distort my record as well. And that’s why I urgently need your help today.

When a party purchases it’s way into power even though it’s the minority - fear is gone. Why be afraid of the voting public when you can just buy your way out of virtually anything. That’s dangerous right there.

The Democratic party is about as corrupt an organization as exists today. There’s nothing more dangerous than wealthy morons. If they can’t find popular support for their positions, they’ll buy their way into power. That’s not to say the Republicans are innocents when it comes to money and power, but at least they aren’t Commies at heart. Well … some of them aren’t.

Personally I can’t wait for the day where we can dig up Samuel Adams, clone him, and start kicking some ass again like the good ol’ days where American Patriots got pissed off enough to really rattle the cages. But, we have to work with what we have, even if it’s a soulless corruptocrat homonculus with a fat wallet and a determination to turn us into something that makes France look like a liberty-loving, mildly bureaucratic shangri-la of personal freedom. Which brings us to John Edwards!

Fresh off another failed Presidential campaign, John Edwards has announced a coalition of left-wing groups, including MoveOn.org and Americans United for Change, is launching a multimillion dollar campaign aggressively targeting Senators who have supported our brave men and women around the world fighting the war against terrorism. I am number one on that list!

While I’ve disagreed with Senator Sununu on a number of issues - and have written, faxed, and called his office numerous times to express my displeasure - I think he’s a good, well-grounded guy. He has solid stances on our troops and immigration and he’s certainly miles better than Gregg has been when it comes to enforcing our borders and sovereignty.

The fact that Democrats are targeting NH shouldn’t come as a surprise. When the state motto of “Live Free or Die” turns into some kind of whitewashed, “Live Together in Peace and Unity”, the rest of this country is surely doomed.

Senator Sununu is asking for financial support to help turn the tide of negativity. I’ll be talking about him when the conversation arises and I’ll be voting for him when he needs it.

One Hell of a Neighbor

In my book, this guy is one HELL of an upstanding citizen.

A regular guy sees some creep following three teenage girls walking along the street. The creep is driving his car, pulling up close to them - driving on the wrong side of the road even.

A concerned stranger stops him and confronts him until police pick him up. Was there a cause for concern? Well, here’s what they found in the bastard’s car:

Police said they found three knives, a hammer and an unusual homemade weapon in Dann’s car.

“It was a head of a hammer with no handle and a wire wrapped around it,” Lt. David Terlemezian said. “No one I spoke with can come up with a legitimate use for something like that.”

Hell yeah. So here we go with the usual “We’re The Police” bit:

Officials said they’re still investigating what Dann was doing, and they don’t encourage people to get involved as directly as Smith was.

“The message is, be an observer, not a participant, to the extent you can,” Terlemezian said.

I know a few Officers. They’re all good people. While there’s a reason for that message, I think it’s misguided. A community that has people like Troy Smith (the guy who stopped said creep) is a community that can trust their neighbors and take care of themselves. If I lived there I’d have that man and his family over for a feast regardless of whether it was my kids he was protecting. Too many times people sit back and watch when they should act. This could’ve been a story about an abduction or a rape. Six months from now we could hear about them dredging up the bottom of some backwoods lake looking for some 16 year-old girls remains. We don’t know what happened because someone had awareness and a set of balls.

Here ya go:

But Smith said he believes he did the right thing.

“If it was my children — I have a son and two daughters — I would want them to do the same thing,” he said.

The three girls were unharmed. They were interviewed by police and released to their parents.

There’s a stand-up guy right there. Always good to hear a great story like this.

Heller - Alan Gura on Machine Guns

What a clear, excellent argument this is:

The solution to 922(o) will have to be political in the end. The fact is, outside the gun community, the concept of privately owned machine guns is intolerable to American society and 100% of all federal judges. If I had suggested in any way — including, by being evasive and indirect and fudging the answer — that machine guns are the next case and this is the path to dumping 922(o) — I’d have instantly lost all 9 justices. Even Scalia. There wasn’t any question of that, at all, going in, and it was confirmed in unmistakable fashion when I stood there a few feet from the justices and heard and saw how they related to machine guns. It was not just my opinion, but one uniformly held by ALL the attorneys with whom we bounced ideas off, some of them exceedingly bright people. Ditto for the people who wanted me to declare an absolute right, like I’m there to waive some sort of GOA bumper sticker. That’s a good way to lose, too, and look like a moron in the process.

Awesome!
