For saying quite eloquently what I feel most American’s believe, even as you’re surrounded by psychopath Hollywood Leftists:
“I’m thinking about the guys who are going to take over when we leave and I want to pass them the country intact – I feel that our country is under attack from without and within,” he added. “We’ve got to be strong and appreciate our legacy, and be so grateful for the gift of being Americans and pass it on whole to the new generations so that they will have the great benefits that we’ve had.”
Uh-oh … “without and within” … seems like another BDS rant in the making …
“It’s very powerful stuff and to some degree, it relates to our times. We’re seeing people trying to denigrate the United States government and its leadership. It’s horrible. We need to recapture the dignity of America across the world.”
Hmmm …
“The conspiracy theories about 9/11 are not only coming from addle-minded people, they are coming from sick-minded people who are anti-American,” Voight said. “Who knows why? Most of the people who are party to that stuff are people who have been abused somewhere in their lives and are striking out at their parent figures – the government being the great parent, in a sense.”
Well said. It’s news when a Hollywood figure speaks up about something like this. So thank you. His thoughts on filming atop Mount Rushmore were quite refreshing:
“It’s so beautiful, really,” Voight reflected. “It stirred so much emotion in me because I love these people – Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt – they are great portraits of human life. They remind us of the greatness we were given, and being there stirs the responsibility of passing it on properly. It was a great inspiration just to be there.”

I hate stories like this. Irresponsible people give responsible people a bad name.
Early Saturday afternoon, on Indianapolis’ Northwestside, an employee of a gun store was wounded when a rifle accidentally discharged inside the store, police said.
John Reynolds, 32, was in good condition at Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for bullet fragments to a thigh and forearm, said police spokesman Jeff Duhamel.
Police were notified shortly after 12:30 p.m. of the discharge inside Don’s Guns and Galleries, 3807 Lafayette Road.
Reynolds and another store employee were working on what police said was an AK-47 rifle that fired 7.62mm rounds. The gun had not been unloaded, according to police, and the barrel was facing the floor when it discharged. When the bullet struck the floor, it broke into fragments that struck Reynolds.
A couple of things strike me in this piece. First, that it’s not labeled an “assault”-something. I’m surprised.
Second, you idiot, what are you doing farking with a loaded weapon in the gun store? I don’t know about anyone else, but the first thing I do when I pick up a pistol, rifle, or whatever, is point it away and down, keep ye olde booger hook away from the trigger, and inspect the hell out of it to make sure there’s no round in the chamber, magazine, etc.
Then I check it again.
Then I check it again.
I do that when I put it away in my safe, and I do the same thing when I take it out of the safe even if I only put the thing away 10 minutes ago.
You’re an employee at a gun store, you better make damn sure you’re not going to shoot one of your customers. Bad for business.
I’m glad to hear that they were pointing this thing down and away instead of out the shop window or toward the front door, certainly. But still … no excuse here, it’s just grossly irresponsible. You cannot make that mistake, there are too many people looking to take away your rights and when you’re that irresponsible it makes their arguments that much more compelling to the folks who don’t know any better.

Some people don’t deserve a trial or their life.
Billings man charged in infant beating:
BILLINGS - A 21-year-old Billings man is charged with assaulting his 5-month-old daughter earlier this year.
…
Prosecutors say the girl suffered a crushing injury to her leg. Medical tests revealed the child also had previous injuries that included a fractured skull, fractured ribs, a fractured arm, bruises and abrasions.
5-month-old daughter? Sub-human animal.

No matter the circumstance, the confusion, or the chaos, there is no excuse:
Parents Leave Baby At Train Station:
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - A panicked moment for some New Jersey parents when they mistakenly left their 6-month-old infant on the platform of the New Brunswick train station.
New Brunswick police say the parents were hauling several pieces of luggage, and each thought the other was carrying the child, when they boarded an NJ Transit train at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
Instead, the infant was still in a stroller on the train platform.
Police say the parents soon realized the mistake. They alerted the train conductor, who called police.
The father exited at the next train stop, and took a cab back to New Brunswick to retrieve the baby, who was unharmed.
Police didn’t file any charges against the parents.
I cannot fathom how it’s possible to do such a thing. How do you not have one hand on your child at all times at a mass transit facility of one kind or another. Six months old and they treat the kid like luggage. “We’re carrying lots of luggage and we just forgot!” likening the child to a hair dryer in a carry-on bag.
You forget things, not people.
My sincere hope is that this child has a long life filled with telling his parents to STFU any time they tell him/her to be careful.

I’m a gamer. Grew up on gaming systems, played video games my whole life, still do and love it.
I’m also “annoyed” with the ATF. Along with the IRS they should both be shut down so we can start over with agencies that actually have accountability. It’s a pipe dream, but hey, it’s MY pipe dream.
So when a gamer like me is pissed off and has time on his hands … well … this is the result:

Feel free to link to it and steal my bandwidth, just throw a nod my way if you do. Or link to the blog. I need more than two regular comment-writin’ folk and a gaggle of RP whackjobs invading this place.

“They were selling like hotcakes,” Akins said. “We were truly amazed by the response.”
That was until the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives banned the Accelerator — two years after approving it.
Emphasis friggin’ mine.
And …
The stop-production order came in an ATF letter dated Nov. 22, 2006. Besides mailing in all recoil springs in stock and his customer list, the agency demanded Akins send an affidavit to each customer to account for all the devices sold. The recipients had to sign the document and return it to the ATF with the removed springs.
Wade wouldn’t comment on Akins’ contention that the ATF erred in its decision-making.
“That’s the bottom line is that we believe it’s a machine gun,” the spokesman said. “End of story.“
Then take one out of the box and try to blow your fucking head off with it, already. What? Doesn’t work? Maybe because it’s a piece of plastic that doesn’t actually fire anything. But you know, details like that don’t matter to the SS ATF. This story pisses me off to no end.
We are the ATF, all your base are belong to us.

Regarding this dipshit. Ahab nails the hysterical global warming cultists to the wall:
What could be more religious than hoping for a Great Flood to wipe the unbelievers from the earth?
Hell. Yeah.
