Damn lucky …
Saw this over at Sebastians:
My club doesn’t allow you to bring a firearm onto club property to shoot unless it’s unloaded and cased. For concealed carry, I was told if they don’t see it, it’s not a problem, but you can’t shoot or show your carry piece, unless the shit has hit the fan. The local indoor range allows shooting carry pieces, even from the holster, but it’s $20 an hour to shoot there, and yearly memberships are $200.
Yipes! $20 an hour and $200 a year? Not allowed to shoot a carry piece?
My range costs $35 a year. It’s 10 minutes away, and I can bring anything from busted heaters to Furby if I want to.
You know, with the right sized basement and some soundproofing, you could in theory build a little indoor 15-yard handgun range in your house.
Hmmmmm …

My club is 70 a year, plus the work requirement, which you can buy your way out of. $200 a year is for the local public indoor range, and the only benefit membership gets you is you don’t pay range fees, and can shoot for as long as you want. If you don’t have a membership, it’s $20 an hour for use of the range.

Work requirement? Interesting. I basically pay to have access to a few acres in the middle of nowhere via a dirt road. I think I have to pay a few extra bucks for use of the indoor range, though I’ve never gone in there. I like shooting outside.
Not when it’s 20 below with 20mph winds, mind you. Which is why I haven’t been out there much lately.
Do they let you bring guests?

You can bring family members as guests for free. Other guests are five dollars. We have an indoor 25 yard pistol range, a 100 yard pistol/rifle range outdoors, and a 75/100/200 yard rifle range range. Also plinking, archery, trap, and sporting clays. Work requirements are basically you have to pitch in to help in the upkeep of that. I get mine by helping set up and take down for matches. Keep in mind this is a club that’s just a few miles outside of Philadelphia, so it’s going to cost a bit more than a club membership in an area with a lot of land.

That’s about what I would figure for something close to Philly. I’m in the middle of nowhere - thus the $35. I think we’ve got a 25-yard indoor, up to 200 rifle/whatever range. Spot for those shotgunners that I’ve never been to.
I’d just as soon buy up 10 acres somewhere and shoot flaming tree stumps.
I’ll be in Philly next week via Jersey. Not going to bother traveling into Jersey with the sidearm though. To my great surprise I actually found a couple of ranges in South Jersey. Atco and Glassboro. Didn’t think they existed anymore.
