New York prosecuted a man for shooting an intruder in his child's room with a gun that happened to be unregistered. If it was here in VA, I'd say the defender would probably skate. An elderly woman was walking her dog (I think she was in a wheelchair) when some scumbag tried to rob her. She drew a handgun and shot the scumbag in the shoulder. Needless to say, she was not licensed to carry a concealed weapon in NYC. The city declined to press charges, and told the press she was on her way to the range for some target shooting. I think that's what she told the cops when they responded. F***ing hypocrites should have brought her up on charges, then the world could see what a bunch of fascists assholes they are. No one wanted to be the one to bring down the pistol packing granny who just perforated a street thug. Of course non of the statist pricks involved said what she did was a good thing, either. Unless the prosecutor wanted to be lynched by an angry mob. Some particularly misguided ones might go so far as to initiate charges, but after the heat comes on, I'm sure they'd back off. If there was some question about the self-defense nature, then all bets are off, but in these recent scenarios, I can't see that being the case.
