Kudlow Needs His Head Examined
Bush’s “Very Good Year“?
Against all odds, and despite the usual drumbeat of criticism, President Bush had a very good year.
Pardon me while I wipe the spat-out egg nog off my monitor.
Amazing you can pen an article of kool-aid-swilling Bush Rah Rah and not mention … immigration. Any gains Bush stumbled upon this year were at best “balanced” by his immigration hissy-fit. Alienating your base to the point where there’s essentially an open rebellion to your ridiculous “comprehensive immigration reform” bullshit stance is not “having a very good year”. And the fact that it took months of torturous politics in a long, drawn-out back-alley brawl to get to that point where he ultimately ended up looking even more stupid than he did with Harriet Miers is not “having a very good year”.
He’s not nearly the satan that Dems would make him out to be (talk about pots calling kettles …), but reading folks like Kudlow you’d think the man was a supra-braniac who is only capable of making calculated moves of sheer genius. Stupidity has many forms, blind loyalty and an ignorance of reality being one of them.
The American people had a good year beating the crap out of disastrous immigration policy in spite of our elected official’s efforts. President Bush was on the wrong end of that ass-whuppin’.
